7'' The Hum Hums - Battle Line (One Chord Wonder, Monster Zero, Waterslide Records, Eccentric Pop Records. 2018)

Discography of The Hum Hums starts in 2013. Since then they have recorded two albums and two 7inches. This EP is their first vinyl release.

The more I listen to, the more I like! Nothing bad I would expect from a Japanese pop-punk band. In all these years they have supported Steve Adamyk Band or Psychotic Youth in Japan. They did a tour in USA for 8 days in 2015 and they released a split CD with Skimmer in 2016.

This EP was launched in June 2018. As they say on their biography:  "We like catchy songs with a bunch of harmonies and punk beats". So expect to hear something between The Queers and Sonic Surf City.

Dig it if you love Monster Zero or Lookout Records bands!

L to R : Taka Onoue (Bass), Tomorrow Nakamura (Drums)
Satoru Marco (Guitar)

7" Dark The Giant - Diamond (Stay Free, 2018)

Dark The Giant are a power-pop band from Tokyo. They started to play two decades ago. And this is their first 7" after all this time!

K-suke is the singer and guitarist (also guitarist in Firestarter). Now the record label Stay Free has released this EP which contains four songs of pure power-pop sung in Japanese. And it's been produced by Fifi (Teengenerate, Firestarter, Tweezers...).

They mention Weezer, Exploding Hearts and New York Dolls among some of their influences and favourite bands. So expect to hear an amazing sound of powerful guitars and catchy punk melodies.
